NEET UG Physics & Organic Chemistry Matrix
High-frequency kinematics, lens combinations, organic reaction pathways, and physiology deficiencies.
Kinematics & Stopping Distance Rule
A motorcycle traveling at 20 km/h stops in 6 meters when full brakes are applied. If the speed is doubled to 40 km/h, the new stopping distance becomes 6 × 2² = 24 meters.
Optics & Thin Lens Combination
A convex lens with focal length +50 cm (+0.5 m) has Power P = 1 / 0.5 = +2.0 Diopters. Placing a -1.0 D concave lens directly against it yields a net combination power of +2.0 - 1.0 = +1.0 D.
Aldol Condensation vs Cannizzaro Reaction
Acetaldehyde (CH₃CHO) has 3 α-hydrogens on its methyl group, so it reacts via Aldol. Formaldehyde (HCHO) has no α-carbon at all, so it reacts via Cannizzaro to produce Methanol and Sodium Formate.
Vitamins, Cofactors & Deficiency Disorders
If a patient undergoes surgical stomach resection (gastrectomy), intrinsic factor secretion ceases, halting Vitamin B12 absorption and triggering macrocytic pernicious anemia.
